getting serious on solar (looking for online comunities)

Hi there,

recent price increases make solar power (both PV and hot water) more and more attractive.

So I am seriously debating taking the plunge.

However, I have a hard time finding online communities (mostly forums) on solar ... does anybody have any leads (except ecomodder) on them?

My idea is to design and implement the whole enchilada on my own ;-)

thx in advance
Al

Here's an article that is specific to solar roofing from the home power site :

Install a Solar-Electric Roof - Aug/Sep 2006
http://www.homepower.com/article/?file=HP114_pg16_Witte
Quote:
PV shingles meet the needs of homeowners concerned about aesthetics and those in locations that otherwise restrict the installation of solar-electric modules, satellite dishes, and antennas. Another advantage is the money saved on conventional roofing materials, PV mounting frames, hardware and, of course, energy too.
Unfortunately(?) it assumes you are using solar shingles.
