Gigafactory punches the clock

The 1.9 million square foot Gigafactory facility started producing Tesla’s first battery cells, which will store/power everything from its Powerwall energy storage systems and all the Tesla's car models. They have a partnership with Panasonic to produce and bring down the price of lithium-ion battery cells. Tesla will supply 20 megawatts/80 megawatt-hours of energy storage to Southern California Edison as part of a wider effort to prevent blackouts, replacing fossil-fuel electricity generation with its lithium-ion batteries. Tesla will be an all-American carmaker, battery maker, and solar producer, 95 percent of the Model 3’s components will be made here and 25,000 of the company’s 30,000 employees are based in the US.

Maybe trump will help tesla succeed since they are so focused on production in america. Maybe even a push for renewables.

We can dream, right?

Looks like tesla is working pretty hard at making America great again.
With all the solar, battery or whatever companys that just went over seas for the slave labor or went bankrupt got bought by China then were taken over seas it's nice to see that we finely got one.

Well hopefully they can make batteries cheaper. Right now lithium batteries are cheap compared to when they first came out in the mid to late 90s.

You can bet he'll take the credit if they do succeed.
