Larger tires DO NOT decrease mpg. Numerous threads to that fact.

Try shifting into neutral w/ the engine on while driving and coast down to stop.

Some care dont coast well in neutral (ford Tarus) others (my Infiniti Q45 and Kia Sportage) do just fine.
There are threads on this 'engine on neutral coasting.

I have been doing that some but sometimes it helps me slow without using the breaks. Do you know? Or does anyone know if the 2000 Accord EX has dfco? Just curious. Also Mcrews, I am a big fan of your car. Didn't compromise the stock look and you get the ecomodding benefits. (Not that the mods make cars look bad but I am sure you know what I mean)

Thank you for the kind words!

I was fortunate.
Great rear ratio, larger tires worked, electronic suspenion made 44psi seem like 30psi! and losts of freeway driving to see clients, oh and never had to do rush hour!

Of course.......'adjusting the nut behind the wheel'!!!!! lol

So I filled up today and my calculations showed a 39 mpg tank. My jaw dropped to the ground and I thought that something wasn't right somewhere so I retraced my route over the week and rechecked by adding my mileage and gas to an app I use on my phone as well as my log here on ecomodder. I'm not sure how it happened but I did get 39 mpg!!! I am pumped! Just hope I can maintain this level of performance while I look into improving my weight and my aero on the car. I am still trying to get a good base line of the car as it sits now but all the fluctuation between tanks isn't really helping me.

I don't see any fluctuation. I just see the normal dramatic increases that any beginning hypermiler is going to get. It'll stop increasing so fast, and that'll be your baseline.

Ultra Gauge is ordered. I plan to do a vacuum gauge soon as well. I also plan to do some maintenance to the engine soon and while I am in there get a look at some future planned mods.
