I'm the same height and I once had a '64 Triumph Spitfire. I was able to be comfortable in it but the point on top of my head pushed up into the canvas when the top was up, and the top of the windshield frame was right in my desired line of sight- had to crouch to look through the windshield, or go top down and look over it.
Lovely styling but oh what horrible quality of engineering, materials, and assembly!

I have always thought that the Austin Healey 3000 was one beautiful car and the Renault R10 was the ugly duckling.

This seems to be one of the closest inspirations to the Miata.

This is actually a useful car, reminds me of the one year sport Volvo wagon.
Not Found on eBay: 1965 Ford Mustang Station Wagon
The dentist father of a girl I went to high school with had one of these made which I observed several times in a dark green in 1972!

Ever heard of one of these? I owned a blue one just like the one pictured
eBay Find Of The Day: Ever Heard of a ’70 Torino Type N/W | Street Legal TV
Mine had some right front fender damage, so I got it very cheap long about
1982 or so. I found, and put on a used fender. Mine originally had the 351
Cleveland, but had a 302 when I purchased. It was an auto with a bench seat.
I took one trip with it from the Portland, OR. area to Tennesse and back.
It averaged about 19mpg at a steady 55mph. so you Fordites can maybe guess
what the rearend ratio might have been.
I had always wondered if there were Type NE, SW, SE, and so on others out there. I guess not.
Naturally, I didn't realize that the car was that rare. I sold it for almost nothing soon after I had moved to NC. It developed tranny issues.

They were never assembled, only ever sold as kits.
Its just that the dealers and buyers didn't realise.
