75 mph!

i have a friend that had a caddy with a 1.6l NA, increased exhaust dia to 2" and turned up the fuel volume screw.

it hauled 2 ppl, 2 grand prix road bikes, large tool chest,
fuel for the bike and an ice chest, doing 75 mph in the desert.

buy everyone you see, cars like that will NEVER be made again!

john

use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

there is suppose to be a factory seal on that fuel screw for good reason. see attachment.

that 1.5 got it good :)

looks like the rodcap retired prematurely, bummer.
manuals usually spec the use of NEW bolts for rebuilds
especially in diesels.
what is your point?

i have had to replace engines that were driven by grannies
down main street (literally one i did explode on main street) it was non aspirated blew @ 1500 -2000 rpm.

engines let go even when u would least expect them to.

the caddy i mentioned was in use for 4 seasons, same engine same trans 3 hour drive (+ mountains) - each way.

it was scrapped because even after replacing the subframe
it would wander all over the road. totally fatigued.

btw the bosch VE pumps are good for 200kw, 25 for each
union. you'd have to feed an rabbit an awful lot of air
and would certainly need boost!
