Greetings from CA. 93 civic VX

Hello everyone. I'm a long time reader of the forum. owned this 93 civic since 2001. The odometer had 114k miles when I first picked it up now it's at about 210k. The previous owner had put in a D15B motor(single solenoid). So w/out a d15z1, my milage had been pretty low, average about 35-38mpg.

recently I added a vacuum gauge after i was 100miles into the tank and changed up my pedaling behavior. wow.. what a difference it made. my last fill up I calculated 42 mpg! 340 miles and about 8.1 gallon fill up

after reading about hypermiliing on here, i have determined to take on the challenge and practice it. continue to upgrade on this daily driver for gas saving purposes while learning more from this forum. thank you

near future mods in progress:
MPGuino (DIY arduino version)
fidanza 7lb light weight flywheel

Too bad about the neutered VX!

Getting an MPG display in there is a good idea - if you liked a vac gauge, you'll have fun with real time fuel consumption feedback.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks guys

I am definitly looking forward to getting the MPGuino hooked up. If I can't manage to get up to at least 50mpg with shavings and coverings, my next motor will be a d15z1 for sure.
