Thanks Will, don't mind if I do! Just done, the cars are in the EM Garage. Pix later maybe, but they are pretty stock. Hope to get the bike this week, so you may not hear from me for a few days. I have to do a thorough, ummm, evaluation of it's FE, dontcha know. (ATKSF - attempt to keep straight face).

Hm, that sounds like a great kickoff for an newish EM-er. Especially since it's nearly in my backyard. I really like Andover/Pymatuning, too. Beautiful lake. We've stayed at a friend's trailer in Holiday Camplands. Gotta check with my personal secretary, but I'll try to be there, see if she'll come. I think I wouldn't be able to be there until mid-afternoon since I'll likely be playing drums at church that week. Can definitely bring chow.

I wonder if there is some way to get internet access out there? When chewing the fat, questions always come up that require research...

I think such information is interesting because it means you are interested by environment and so by lowering CO2 emissions. This is one of our motivation to my wife and I. 3kWc of solar panels will be installed on the roof of our house in a few weeks

That said, I bought a small 5 watt PV to start experimenting with. I think there are great opportunities in auto design, especially PIHV, for integrated PV panels.
My first project before thinking about having solar panels on the roof, was a solar system sufficient to feed a computer 24/7. As it appeared to be a little bit too expensive, an economical analyze showed it's profitable after 100 years... by imagining the system works during that laps without having to change anything

As I have no mechanical or electrical knowledge, I will not change anything under the hood of my cars, but I will be very interesting on all that can be/have been done.

Back to your question, my first thoughts for mobile thermovoltaic are the ceramic solid state devices that are currently out there such as CPU coolers and plug in coolers, and then Sterling cycle generators which are still bulky and heavy for what they produce. I doubt either would generate enough to replace an alternator. I put much more hope in thin film PV.
Thanks for the information. I didn't know anything about thermoelectric devices and Sterling cycle. I was thinking about Rankine engines, as ICE's exhausts is hot enough : Honda Recaptures Lost Heat, Blows Highway Hybrids Away.
