All in favour?
But when the price bottoms out, everyone here will be testing their mods

The Marauder will soon be the most common vehicle in the ecomodder fleet. (And people will be asking about hho and throttle body spacers for it.)

I wonder how many people just come to this site and read about techniques, then incorporate them into their daily driving. I see, admittedly rarely, people driving using techniques that are proven effective. Driving the speed limit or slower, coasting to red lights, mostly the first stages of what we call hypermiling.

When I first came here a while back there were predictions of $5 a gallon in the US by today's date. Now we are looking at half that price.

We see car companies adopting some of our ideas. While cheap fuel may delay that process, can we really call the fuel "cheap". I just hope that someone can find a nice decent paying job or maybe a few million with the money we are not spending on fuel. My last week cost me $18.17.

regards
mech

I filled up for $30 on thursday, compare that to $65 when I bought the car at the beginning of June!

$2.99 for diesel at a couple stations out this way, still $3.49-3.79 at most others. Apparently those two stations just wanted the extra traffic. $41 to fill the TDI.

Diesel out here is still 3.6x range! I need to do some internet searches on why. Diesel [while growing up] was always at least a quarter cheaper.

In my area gasoline is $2.31 verses $3.33 for diesel.

This tank was purchased when gas was $2.79 here in Oklahoma. It is now down to $1.97 within a 5 mile radius. I am enjoying every second of it (except for the fact that I paid almost $10 more for this tank ). Next tank will be even better for me I guess. Even though it is Winter, I will not be driving too much (semester ended ), so this tank should last until December 20, then next tank will last to January or February hopefully .

My budget is going the be saving even more money now =D

I guess it is all relative. When I started driving in the 1960's gas was $0.25 cents a gallon. I had a VW with a 10 gallon tank and remember thinking if gas keeps getting more expensive it will probable cost me $3 to fill up. Of course, I was making $1 an hour stocking shelves at Kroger at the time.

So gas needs to get a lot cheaper if they want to dampen my desire for more MPG's

We've got one station in San Antonio at $1.99. But most are still around $2.30 for unleaded and, for some stupid reason $3.70 for diesel!
