I once read an article written by a statistician that showed that government forecasters were wrong an amazing 100% of the time!!

It used to be refining diesel was easier then unlead, and while technically that is still somewhat true, the stuff they don't refine out of diesel to get to unlead is valuable and in demand in it's own right. Basically, although it costs more to get to unlead you also end up with a bunch of valuable jet fuel and feed stock for high octain unlead. Diesel is also taxed $.06/gal more on the federal level. In my state the state is also $.06/gal more. Finally another government estimate is the ultra low sulfur mandates cost as much as $.25/gal at the pump.

Same here, gas is 2.89. I haven't seen it this low since I started driving.

It's in the low $2.50 range here. I brought out my beloved Lincoln for a few more miles in 2014 before the snow falls and the salt is scattered every where.

2.209 everywhere yesterday- but didn't see one 2.199 or lower. I am not sure if we hit lowest possible low, or if its still going to dive. All my cars still have over a half tank, prices could be over 3 before I fill again!!!

I find that hard to believe, just on the stopped clock principle :-)
Am I the only one who thinks that as soon as ISIS runs out of oil it can steal and/or produce with forced labor, and dump on the market for whatever they can get, that the price of gas will shoot right back up again?

We need to start speculating in oil futures. It'll drive the price up and we'll make money off of it!

All I need to do to make prices drop more, is go fill my 3-5 gallon jugs.
