Happy Winter Driving?

I hope that at least most of you aren't observing similar scenes!

Total lack of following distance, and brains not figuring people with their turn signals on turning left!

It pays to go slower! And to avoid higher traveled roads! There's some REALLY crazy/nutty people out there!!

That's interesting that so many different people had video cameras going. Insurance related?

Lol, I was SSSOOOOO hoping that person tried to take a short-cut off-road, would get stuck!! I hope they learned a lesson!

Notice that the vast majority are all from Russia? As you can see, there are a lot of bad drivers with little regard for the rules of the road and hit-and-run are common.

From what I've read, Russian law doesn't place a lot of value on verbal testimony. Video is a whole nuther story. So, huge numbers of people have dash cams as a means to protect themselves and their property.

Okay, makes sense.

I had to take my Grandma to the emergency last night (too high of blood pressure. She's okay!), and it was SO slick! We were driving on ice with lots of blowing snow, and a couple inch snow covered road at 11:00 pm, and 4:00 in the morning. I kept having flashes of the single car slide off clips going through my head! Lol. So I took it EXTRA slow in the RAV!

I hope things are much better with your Grandma! It is so easy to pat ourselves on the
back, thinking we are the safest drivers ever; and all it takes is a moment of complacent
thought and the moment can't be redone!
Didn't mean to like enter nightmares in your life, but reminders can be good.

I like watching those videos but it reminds me that people driving slower (just like us) almost always get involved in an accident with some idiot speeding

LarryBuck,
No, the video was fine. And a good reminder to never take your vehicle or driving skill for granted. ie: "Oh I've got an AWD RAV4! I'm fine!" Ya right! No vehicle is bullet proof to Winter road conditions. No certain set of snow tires (studded or not), are going to keep you on the road if you loose control.

Grandma is doing much better. She hasn't been taking her meds consistently! So it was a good reminder to her to try harder!

Good reminders here for us all. Hopefully as a society we realize we need to slow down and smell the roses. Plus when it comes to driving lets all drive. Which means eyes on road and not watching the girls on the side of the road or doing anything else that would take your attention away form the wheel.
