Hereabouts the hydraulic bin lift on the garbage truck is noisier than the engine.

But why do Harley people have to rev their engines when coming to a stop.

We know your engines are not efficient just by way they run and sound why do they have to make even more annoying?

Thank God my passenger side electric window works. LOL
I totally agree. There are alot of douchebags on motorcycles who think because they are on 2 wheels, that they have the right to annoy everyone around them. I've ridden motorcycles my whole life, and the stock exhaust has always stayed on. I don't get it myself. What's so attractive about being a dick? They don't even sound good anyway, but whatever.

This BS line is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Just as many, if not more, loud bikes have been hit than quiet ones. People need to stop with the ignorant lines they use in order to justify being a butt. I've always ridden with quiet pipes, never been hit once. I know about a guy with a loud Vulcan that's been hit twice. People that believe the "loud pipes save lives" crap, are the same ones who must not have a very valuable brain, so they rant about helmet laws. Takes a kinds.

I thought the loud pipes save lives thing was a bit overblown until I bought my Nightster. I noticed a lot of people almost changing lanes into me, etc. I won't say any of it really put me in a serious situation, but as soon as the bike got loud, that stuff stopped.

I've always wondered about that myself. I mean, how many of those get hit deliberately by people who just got pushed over the edge? Not to mention the startle factor, because even when you hear those pipes, it's often impossible to determine just where they're coming from.

Yep.

It may sound mean, but some of them deserve it. I'm sorry, but I have zero tolerance for people who purposefully try annoy the people around them. Same with the stupid stereo stuff.

From studying the discussions on various motorcycle forums. the majority of motorcycle wrecks are either self inflicted, or could have easily been prevented, by better awareness and more careful riding practices.

The past prez of the Good Times VW club had a dune buggy with a dual cannon exhaust (they're ratty). He used to say "loud pipes save yadda", but then he started towing his teardrop trailer with it.

It was so loud that now he just says "What?"
