I'm from Toronto and have just (~700km) bought a new to me 00' VW Beetle and traded in my minivan, I'm hoping to realize some fuel savings on top of the huge savings in switching vehicles.

Hello fellow Torontonian! I think you'll like your Beetle. My old buddy has one and I always liked it. VW has a very nice fit and finish for their interiors.
