I have a bad habit of staring at the monitoring device instead of the road, it is in middle of windshield as it also doubles as my dash camera...(old Note 2 phone

One year ago I bought a ScanGauge E too and it was the best investigation. I expect that within the first year using it it saved me three times as much fuel than it's price.

As FordMan wrote it's an eye-catcher and more important than the street. So I placed it just behind the steering wheel.

The first year I let it display AVG (average consumption) and LPH (liters per hundred kilometers) what is typical for middle of Europe. So I learned how to drive the car most economically. Today it shows the speed (more realistically than the car's speed-indicator) and AVG as well. So this is the only device to look at while driving and there is more time to care for the street what happens.

I don't have space behind the steering wheel (at least I don't think so. I'll check once it arrives), but I'll keep it as near to line of sight as possible. I currently have an AVG display on the dashboard. Not brilliantly accurate but at least it shows when my average is going up or coming down. My dash cam displays a GPS speedometer on the rear, so I can play with the ScanGauge to my heart's content.

I suppose there is space. I just checked another Jazz, should be same age as yours:

At my car it looks fine. I put it to the same place

and fixed it with an hook-and-loop tape, so I can remove if needed. Until now there was no need

While driving I can see all the signal lamps. Just the total mileage is covered but there is no need observing it all the time.

It might be possible, especially if I drop the wheel down a bit, but the odometer is also an average mileage display and if I use something else on the ScanGauge I'd like that still visible.

Once it arrives I can check set up out.
