I was going to try again today, but I had another friend that needed help. This friend gave me her original oil pan, since I already have my Civic pan that needs to go somewhere, so I decided to remove the gasket maker and have it welded.

Eventually, I realized that a razor could not remove RTV in a gash, so I bought gasket remover. I just applied it, let it sit, and easily scrubbed off the gasket maker!

Since this is a weak spot, would it do any good or harm, since I am already taking it to a welder, to have it reinforced?
