You can easily rig up a 12 volt motor, speed controller and pulleys, etc to drive a compressor or get an rv ac unit that runs on dc vs ac.

Sadly, that is the the main way to get privacy at work. I did this for a few weeks while I ate my lunch. I returned phone calls, made phone calls. The engine helps to drown out your call, other noises and makes the interior of the car comfortable with the windows closed.

Just replacing the stock compressor with an electric-driven Danfoss would be more practical than working around the speed controller and pulleys. It would be better for the sake of aerodynamics than having to mount an RV air-conditioneer on the roof, and also avoiding the need for drilling the roof panel.
