I had problems with the driver's door lock on both the Civic and my Forester and the power door locks rarely work correctly on either Chorizo or my Accord.

It takes more than three times as long to check all of the locks on the four-door.

In the past few years, products at CES have increasingly focused on putting the Internet in everything, no matter how "dumb" the device in question is by nature. It's how we've ended up with stuff like this smart hairbrush, this smart air freshener, these smart ceiling fans, or this $100 pet food bowl that can order things from Amazon.

Now that phenomenon is reaching its logical endpoint: during the company's CES press conference today, LG marketing VP David VanderWaal says that "starting this year" all of LG's home appliances will feature "advanced Wi-Fi connectivity."

Like life is so stressful that one cannot remember how much fuel is in the vehicle so they feel the need to ask "Alexa" because they can't wait till they sit in it to find out.

And in another instance of how technology improves lives, this from today's news: Authorities: Don This is a rough dirt road, not plowed, that starts off up a steep, narrow canyon. There are big signs at the bottom saying it's not maintained, and warning people not to follow their GPS to bypass I-80, but as you can see, they still do.


The really ironic bit is that if they looked at their GPS's map, they'd discover that the only remotely passable routes in winter (for anything but a snowmobile) bring them right back to I-80 :-)
