IIRC the same probe was retained in the flexfuel versions of those engines.

You are in Brazil aren't you ? Do you have any info on running on Ethanol vs gasoline on Vvti engines ?
More specifically, does the engine seems less powerfull like it did when I tried Ethanol?

Yes.

IIRC all the flexfuels I drove on ethanol weren't fitted with VVT.

Usually the engine gets more powerful running on ethanol. It's a matter of tuning for you to get it running as it's supposed to do.
