Hi- longtime lurker, new member... 87 crx si

Hello all, I've been lurking/learning for quite a while. I recently bought an 87 CRX si and am starting to implement ideas I've learned from here. My tanks mpg have gone from 32 to 34 to 37 mpg, with small modifications to car and driving style. I will start to track mpg continuously(after I verify that I am doing it as precisely as possible) and begin modding. Thanks to all for the info!

Change your tranny fluid if you haven't done so already as it needs to be done every other year 10w30 motor oil is the correct stuff, synthetic oil works great for this.
I think you have a 1.6l engine in that correct? other then that it's pretty well tuned or mileage, with fuel injection, off the top of my head I'm not sure what your engine speeds are at highway speed but you might be able to drop that speed a bit with a $100 tranny swap.
Tires and wheels are going to make a difference as well, Honda insight wheels would be ideal for mileage, but the civic vx and civic hx wheels work well as well as they are really light and narrow.

Wow... sorry all, i forgot I posted a while ago- not ignoring anybody on purpose. I was actually searching for crx info, found this post, and said, "wow, this guy has a crx si too!". too funny.... anyway, thanks for all the replys....
Ryland, I have the fuel injected 1.5l motor and have been doing normal tune up stuff- thanks for the tranny fluid info, that is the next thing I'll do. Well, that besides taking massive amounts of Advil to fix my headache caused by too much reading of LRR tire comparisons....

Need tires, will probably go with a larger size LRR for rolling resistance and higher gearing....
