If you have a lot of carbon build up this can make it worse. I'm fighting this problem too. Also burning oil will add to it. I'm thinking of adding an oil catch can.

I may try an E85/ E10 93 blend on the next tank. A 2 gal/10 gal fill will give me 95-96 octane with E23 equivalent.

I need to try some SeaFoam bad. I saw yesterday that I have spark knock with water temps between 180-185* on this 87.
