The 4th gen civics are great for mileage. Light for good mpg and new enough for injection. The only drawback iirc is that they have a mechanical speed sending unit which means an MPGuino is slightly problematic. A vac guage would be good info though.

The cars have a mechanical speedo, but there is a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) inside the instrument cluster which feeds info into the fuel injection computer.

With the HF engine and trans, I'd guess you'd be over 35-40 MPG in city driving, and up near 50 MPG on the freeway. Or possibly much more if your hypermiling/ecodriving skills are good.
