Honda's All-New Honda Insight Hybrid: Fuel Economy Similar to Civic Hybrid : TreeHugger

That doesn't look like a Prius to me.

Anyway, looks like Honda targeted similar fuel economy as the civic hybrid which is a bit disappointing, even with the much lower price.

We knew from the first anouncement that it was using the same powertrain as the Civic Hybrid, just with lighter (read: cheaper) IMA hardware. No manual tranny. (BOOOO!!!!)This is a marketing response because people want their hybrids to look different from other non-hybrid cars. I find the design very handsome. The front night view is sweet. Dash looks nice. The line to buy one forms to the right.

My Insight is shamed by its successor......

I think the LED front end is pretty sick.

As Toyota seams to have decided to have a dedicated hybrid brand with prius, maybe Honda does the same with insight.

May be it's hard for Honda to communique about a car that has so many different versions (type S, type R, hybrid, iTDCI...) and so many different goals (speed, FE...). Perhaps it's the reason why I can see more and more civic in the streets, but I only saw one hybrid.

I hoped this new insight had a better FE than the current HCH...

Denis.

Hiya,

So, no specific MPG numbers? Earlier, I had heard 60mpg, and another place 71mpg. It seems like a crisp Prius.

I like the flush door handles, the sleek mirrors, and the sharp edged spoiler -- no Cd or weight yet, either?
