An interesting thought about the twin engine system, it helps mpg in two possible ways:
1 the gas engine is for more power, and the diesel is for low-speed efficiency (like the
EV-only driving capable in my Prius).
2 the exhaust fumes from the gasoline engine might power the diesel engine (sounds
far-out, but so did flying 120yrs ago).

It appears it has been some time since an update has been given on this car. I wanted to let everyone know that the car has a new home, it is now part of the collection at Lane Motor Museum in Tennessee. We are now embarking on the research of the history of this vehicle and would be interested in any information anyone has. The car looks pretty much the same as it did in the previous pictures, but we will have pictures of it up soon on our website for anyone interested in seeing its current state. I will update as we learn more!

The lower left figure would have been more similar.
13" wheels can be fitted to a Beetle with drum brakes. Less drag anyway.
