I suppose we really should look into this. We do (did?) have some "social" links inside threads at one point.
The funny thing is neither Ben, Tim or I use Facebook. (I'm not really a joiner. )
But I realize that puts us in the minority!

Not an Arsebook user either; the fascination with and popularity of it escapes me.

Ecomodder should really consider implementing a Facebook connection. vBulletin has modifications that allow you new guests to register using their Facebook accounts for basically one-click signup. The same goes for many other social sites like Twitter, Google+, etc.
This is how things on the internet are moving. All the kids have at least one social network profile. Instead of remembering multiple logins for multiple sites, using Facebook to create accounts on forums like this really helps more people register.
While you may not use it personally, it's a powerful marketing tool for the site. Adding in Facebook "share" and "like" buttons gives ecomodder threads exposure to all of that persons friends. Plus, you could create ecomodder accounts on Facebook and the rest. Share and post the frontpage stories to the profiles and draw in more interested visitors to the site.
If you want examples of how big and important it is becoming, head over to your favorite news website and look at the comment system. I can almost guarantee you that the comment system allows you to login via a social network account.

I'd be willing to run a Facebook site if you guys are looking for someone. Darin or anyone else could PM me a link now and then (when the front page gets updated?) and I could throw it up on the Facebook page. We could post up neat pictures now and then from ongoing projects, and give a shout out to whoever's innovating that week.
But I'm not adding anyone to my personal account.

I don't use facebook either.
The Mazda Astina forum that I read, recently set up a facebook thingy and it's moved a lot of the "social" (as opposed to "technical") posts off the main forum.
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. There are instances where discussions are started on facebook, then spill onto the main forum, leaving those like me wondering what sparked the discussion (argument) in the first place.

Isn't there already a facebook link? At the top it should say "submit tools" with a long list including facebook, reddit etc. I've never used it before, so i don't know if it works. It seems the "submit tools" function only appears once a thread gets past the first page. I can't see the function on this thread.
