Cool thanks, "ej22" helps! So 3500 is the sweet spot in the middle of the droopy line? This type is hard for me to understand.

That's kind of how I read it. I don't know if the 2.5 matches that curve but I would guess that it's pretty close.

that downward blob centered on 3500 is showing that you can lift off a little and keep it in that 190 zone. If the 2.5 caries that trend anyway. I figure it's likely accurate enough to call 2500-3500 best sfc for acceleration.

that 34mpg is pretty impressive I will be interested in seeing if it's a fluke or what. I'm guessing it's the difference 500lbs and much better CdA makes between an imprezza and a forester.
