How fast do you think I was driving?
So, I was rear-ended by a full-size work van on the freeway. The back bumper had minor damage and that was it. So, what happened here?
I always figured that the best way to remove Gorilla Tape required removing the bumper, but can I get it back on?
You can see the top of the $35 resonator that I bought from LKQ when the tire blew and damaged everything in the vicinity. I seriously wish that I knew what happened, but my family suggests that a year and a half of bouncing down dirt roads didn't help.
I cannot find an 1999 Accord 2.3l intake resonator on LKQ or car-part. The best price that I can find on Amazon, eBay, or any dealership is $90. Majestic has the lowest price, but highest shipping.

I'll say you were going 0 MPH.
I was hit in the Prius on the freeway. Did practically no damage, just a scrape in the paint. I told the kid not to worry about it.

Do you have any suggestions for finding it on LKQ or parts-com? I cannot find it!

Can't you hot-glue it back together?
What's the PN? I'd search for that rather than Honda Accord intake resonator.
Then there's always the local junk yards.

The only local junkyard does not have any Accords [or Civics] of my generation. The power steering pump was common to many Hondas, but the resonator is specific to the 2.3l Accords this generation.
It is 17230-PAA-A01, but that does not help with LKQ or car-part.
Hot glue? That only works for pulling dents (80%). Gorilla Tape holds everything together!
I drove my car without this resonator, but I planned on plastic-welding and then wrapping with Gorrilla Tape, but there are missing bits. If I am lucky I could have a near-stock experience until I can get a[nother] good resonator.
Since I cannot find any other resonators I looked for donor cars for some reason. This one has one!

No bumper and no cat, although the engine supposedly has 50,000 miles from Japan.
It wouldn't be worth buying for the hood...

You have probably seen the external latch setups the kids use on their cars to make the bumper cover quick release. One part is on the fender and the other is on the cover with some kind of a rubber band holding it together. My bumper covers are only held on with plastic push pins from the factory. Saturn L200.

Drift stitches!
Like in that picture below, but drill small holes to your fenders and edge of bumper.

The bumper seems to be intact, except for where it fastens to the car. I am welding the resonator back together, but the heat keeps turning off, so I am unsure that I will ever be able to finish.

Better than ever!
The cargo strap is a nice green and I trimmed the piece that was hanging down! It just seems silly to wait for the windshield to defrost before pulling into the garage, but here we are.
