How many times have you wished your car was bigger than it is?
I just wanted to get a thread going about "all" of the times everyone here on EcoModder wished their car was just a little bigger.
Versus all of the times you looked around and saw wasted space (99% for me)
For Me twice
1)
6 Big guys + 4 peoples luggage for 4 nights in the Golf to pick up Fast Food in Collage station. Good Lord was it crammed, Bump stops just about all the time, only scary part was when we didn't think we were going to make it back in after a round of Ultimate Cheese Burgers at Jack In The Box
2)
6 Tires smallest of which was 275 35 R18
1 MKIV Supra interior (short carpet, Dash, and drivers seat)
Enough Tools to swap a head gasket in a parking lot ( 2 Jacks, assorted hand tool sets)
Luggage for 3 people for 4 nights
Quite a few spare parts including Turbos, gaskets, hoses, belts, brake pads, etc
Enough fluids to cause Exxon Valdeze 2.0 (3 kinds of brake fluid, 2 kinds power steering, gallon of Mobile 1, Gallon of ATF, Gallon of Toyota Red, 2 gallons of water
Small Ice Chest
Driver + Passenger
No Clue how I got all of that in there, I think there are still parts in my Golf for Supras I don't own.
Anybody else?

Had it happen a couple of times.
The car is a full five seater but the problem is not passengers but their luggage on trips to and from the airport.
The people fit comfortable enough but the suitcases are another story.
We usually get around it with one taxi and one car (mine , most of the time).
Pete.

wouldn't say I "wished" for a bigger car, was quite happy to get the job done with what I had, but I can imagine my diesel rabbit looked kinda curious with a sleeper sofa on top.

I think we need pics of this.
Epic regardless.
I have moved a sofa, Bed, Table + Chairs with mine, but I cheated and used a Trailer.

Our stationwagon was bought so that it could: (a) haul 4-5 people + big hiking packs on long trips, (b) fit 200cm long skis, (c) get very good fe. What we got can haul up to 7 people (if we get two extra seats, but we have driven with 4 people on the 3 rear seats), haul IKEA boxes up to 240cm long with 1-2 passengers, haul 3 people + 3 mountain bikes inside, haul almost a ton of cement, bricks, etc. and still get around 5 l/100km. Parking in the city is not what this car was made for: Each time we have to go city driving we wish we had a car half the size, and half the weight. But since we regularly use the length, width and weight limit to the max (4-5 times per year), this car is OK The only thing that I would change is the height - I don't need 15-20cm of air over my head.

When I was very young, I started home from a party with at least eight people in a Morris Minor. Not so many people lined up rides with me after that, but I had fun. I had a Celica stuffed with firewood a few times, but needing to make more trips is not a real problem. I can't think of any time I've wanted a bigger car, but sometimes I would like a more convenient arrangement of stuff in Stealth RV. It has about as much volume inside as the cabin of a world-circling sailboat, Tiny Dancer, in which I once squatted in amazement. Appliance White sometimes has to wave a red flag at the tip of her load projecting from the hatch, but that's just good averaging. I use a few Coroplast shapes to close the gap around the hatch for long runs.

I made my car bigger in the process of constructing the aeromods. The boattail mod added over 2 feet of additional interior cargo space behind the back seats and I can now carry 8 foot boards inside without having to catty corner them into the front footwell or have them sticking out of the back of the car.
