In my garage I pulled a 40mpg tank again. This time I never once was on the freeway. The only other tank that netted me the same numbers I drove almost 70 miles highway. I was also driving the car harder, enjoying the extra pep and handling characteristics from the shorter stock tires. I need to find my receipt from yesterday, it's 16x.x miles on just over 4 gallons. I was pinging a lot in the 100 degree weather so i topped off with premium, or i would have burned the whole tank off.

I think cruise control with an automatic is better for economy than a manual variant, because of the lock up and slip characteristics. I can dwl a manual and do better than it's cruise control. With an auto i set it and forget it, knowing ill end up speeding and reduce fe that way. I used to have a black 1989 lsc and i miss that car. It shared everything with mustangs and quite a few boltons really helped that pig.

ive shed 220 pounds out of my aspire, and I dont think my mileage has gone up 8-10% from the weight alone. A 2100 pound car thats 10% of weight gone. It's been the tune, my tire psi, and turning off the engine when i can.
