even my 1987 CRX non fuel injected areo moded CRX is pulling down 52+ mpg.. better than a hybrid.

Better than SOME hybrids - my Insight has averaged 70.5 mpg over 5 years/75K miles. That includes occasional trips over 8900 ft mountain passes in snowstorms, which really wrecks your trip mpg :-)
