Hydraulic drive hybrid

I am currently researching hydraulic drive hybrid technology.I contacted one hydraulic system manufactorer, they told me they have their engineers currently working on developing new motor and pump designs in partnership with a major German car manufacturer. Also UPS is field testing systems in some of their city trucks. So far hydraulics seems to be a whole bunch more efficient at regen than the ev boys are .Then there is the Cal Poly students with their 10 sec 1/4 mile 2002 ford explorer with dual 500hp hydraulic motors getting 35 mpg using a 1.9VW turbo diesel to drive the pumps.Wow.Am I on to something?Could hydraulic drive be in the future for the Zoleco? Your ideas and links to the technology would be appreciated!

Thank you for the link.I have read about their system previuosly. So as a follow up I emailed them to see what they currently had available .Their reply was that they do not currently have a system commercially available. The system components are currently being developed and built by their engineers. They are doing this with close cooperation with a leading European automotive OEM.They commented on the Zoleco saying they were impressed by my ambitious project and the work I had done so far. That was nice! Thanks again.

Here is mine.

Radial rotary engine with energy storage

I have someone working on a functional prototype to use on an antique motorcycle for proof of the concept, but it may be a little early to have someone else build them until I can get some firm data on efficiency and reliability.

Back in the 80s, there was a Monster truck running off hydraulic motors. IF I recall, the truck was called "Santanimal". The drive system made the thing like a big skid steer. And a sliding weight in the bed allowed the truck to wheely. Not efficient of course, but impressive all the same.

Thanks for introducing me to your intriguing design.I shall study the system to try to grasp the concept clearly in my mind and evaluate it's benefits.
