Thanks for sharing- see the minimum speed part? All the roads in my state have that; I suspect most states do. It is lawful to drive above the minimum speed.

Lets not argue in this thread. My original intention was to learn from the experience of people who practice driving 55mph on the highway. Some people may drive slower than i am used too; but a lot of people here (me included) also grill block, side view mirror delete, over inflate tires, P&G and many other things that the general public might find questionable. So i'm not one to judge others and overlook my own offenses.

I have never been rear-ended. I hear it is one of the most common of accidents.
My mother-in-law has had about 5 of them. I don't know how she does it. I could guess...

Get real. There's a reason why demo-derby drivers ram everyone with the rear of their cars. If anyone gets to drive off it is the rear-endee.

The reason the person in back gets the ticket is because they are the one responsible and in control of the situation. If you don't go too fast or get too close you will NEVER collide (even if the one in front wants to).

I've never been cited for driving between the min and max speed limits. I have been cited for going over the max limit, even by a wee bit. Do the math.

Also, I was not aware that getting cuffed and stuffed was standard operating procedure for speeding or lack thereof. Say it isn't so!

I drove about an hour at 55mph today and didn't have a single problem, but I did get a few guys smiling ear to ear as they passed the Civic. Make your car look fun and playful and angry people will forget why they were mad at you.

Two thirds of my motorcycle insurance premium is for "uninsured motorists". This is in a state where you are required to carry insurance under penalty of law. Thats because a lot of drivers leave the scene after they wipe out a person on a bike.

Knowing that, when I am on my bike, the last thing you will see me do is try to influence the driving habits of the stoned, uninsured, habitual offender, who is 10 feet from my back tire at 45 MPH+, and intoxicated.
