i have a question for the honda guys in the room?

hi. i have a question for my fellow honda enthusiast about my hx civic. its a 98 fed honda hx with a 5 speed. i just found out that my car has no knock sensor..... no plug for one and the hole in the block has never had one in it? i have always known the hx to have one but i think i may be wrong.? can any body that knows fill me in and i dont want guesses im looking for real ansers. thank you all.
