I did the same thing as an undergrad in Mechanical Engineering in the 70's. In that major, all lectures are straight from the book. That made it easier to cut class.

When I was attending Arizona State College (now, NAU), my dorm roommate, a 5th-year student, made "extra" money by "sitting-in" for students and taking 'shorthand' notes for them during lectures. His mother, a one-time legal secretary, had taught him how to take & read shorthand.

Okay, I added a poll. I think that my issue is paying enough attention and remembering long enough, not writing fast enough, but if you guys would rather that I learn shorthand than ecomod...

So, this is depressing; I was greatly frustrated by my lack of progress, so I turned off my phone, disconnected from the Internet, and finished preparing flashcards very quickly. However, I make my flashcards with StudyBlue.com. I upload an Excel file with the questions in one column and the answers in the other and then start studying.
Except that I am on-line, where I am constantly distracted.
As you can see.

Fail. Make my Nook flashcards.
Study Nook flashcards.
Alternately: Make Nook flashcards, search and replace "^p" for "^t", which replaces hard page breaks with tabs, copy and paste into Excel, and then upload.

Well, I finished school, but averaged B-s. People say "Cs earn degrees" and I respond "Do push-ups!"
I despise that saying... a friend with a PhD said it to me and I asked if he earned Cs in grad school. He responded that if you earn Cs in grad school, you are no longer in grad school.
Meanwhile, you cannot really have a career in Speech Language Pathology without a Master's, and the lowest GPA requirement that I saw for over two hundred programs in the United States was 3.11.
Can you see the problem with earning Cs?
The VA diagnosed me with ADHD and prescribed Ritalin, which did not seem to do anything, but I took that diagnosis to ASU, and they assigned me a notetaker. That helped, but it was too late.
I recently met someone that said his professor told the class to not even bother trying to take notes, he simply talked too fast. He said "challenge accepted," opened a Google Document, had everyone use different colors, and if they did not understand something, one student looked through the textbook, another looked on-line, and the rest continued taking notes on lecture.
However, the rest of my classmates seemed to manage somehow.
