I knew a guy that had a Rampage. He told me he wanted to be buried in it, but I don't think that wish was respected.

I think but Wikipedia does not confirm that it had an engine based on the Golf/Rabbit four but with increased cylinder bore spacing. For sure, the body was based on a 2-door instead of a 4-door like the Rabbit. I never sat in one but I bet it would be the one to have.

IIRC it had to do with the Simca Poissy engine not being compliant to the EPA standards at the time.
