You bought French and think the Electrics are going to work ? Jeebus.

I understand the 1.9 has turbo "issues" but at your mileage either yours won't have them or it has had them and been fixed ?

Otherwise good buy.

I remember the Dauphines and R10s. When the Michelin tires wore out at 80k miles, it was time to throw the car away. Cooling system sealed for life, however short that might be. I once watched a R10 (maybe R8?) pass a cement truck that had a huge bulge in the side of the left front tire. He got right beside the tire when it blew and that Renault did 4 360s in the grass median. The driver literally crawled out of the car on his hands and knees. I had seen the bulge in the trucks tire and passed him quickly before it blew.

regards
Mech

Crapsticks, now what?

Rob, your luck re: cars is pretty dismal right now.

Isn't it your sig that reads, "sh*t pretty much turns up instantly?" Was that the first Megane you looked at?

Feeling your pain. I'd offer a push but it's a long swim from here.

What is the issue ? Rumour control suggests Renner imported unused electrical spare parts from Lucas when Austin Rover went mamaries upward...

Hope it is electrickery, easier to fix.

@Arragonis - School zone and it was after hours so technically allowed

It was the UPC (overgrown fuse tray) that had water ingress.

Annoyingly after the RAC got there the car ran and drove the 35+ mile home, started the next morning and drove happily to the Regie dealer for a safety recal(bodywork) only there did it properly have an electric Na-Na window-licking episode and as my luck would have it, refuse to start. I couldn't move the car so I had to payfull main dealer price for the UPC, phase 2 (upgraded) water covers, loom backline to remove the corrosion etc - basically a huge fraction of my limited monthly pay went directly to Paris.

Now the car is back an running well. (finger crossed while touching wood)
