I'm in the paper again

I'm in the local newspaper again. At least this time it isn't for speeding (in an electric car...)

I got a phone call out of the blue from a reporter saying he was doing a story on the coming high gas prices this summer.

He spoke with me briefly, maybe ten minutes total. Then he sent out a photographer to get a photo of me and the car.

The article also has a quote or two from my friend Tom, who built the 300V AC Electric Dodge Neon.

And, of course, it has the typical ERRORs common in local papers. (Can you spot them all?)

You can see a photo of the newspaper article below.

Nice job Ben! I thought it was more well rounded then alot of articles that I've seen over the years, pointing out that a big part of food cost is fuel, at a conference on organic farming that I went to a few years back they had a work shop there on growing your own oil crops and pressing your own oil, their numbers at the time showed that the cost of doing that on a farm gave fuel that cost about half of what you would otherwise have to pay to buy off road diesel and at least from their figures a large farm could pretty much hire someone to oversee their oil crop and pressing and still save money.

Aw, come on Ryland - you got the super-delux version of the Open Revolt t-shirt!

When I met Chelsea Sexton this past summer, I DID get her to sign a copy of my DVD.

$20,000 for a basic conversion that goes 10 to 20 miles?! That's the only mistake I found. Ben, don't let your daughter become like Paris Hilton. Make her work for things, even if you are famous, and it's no longer necessary.
