Improving FC on a Nissan Maxima 99

Hi Guys,

I own a Nissan Maxima 99 V6 3.0 AutoGearbox ( 50k miles only ) and I wish to know if someone of you guys own the same car and improve its F/C.

I already swap the Gearbox Fluids and also using Mobil 1 5W30 Extreme Performance 5W30 oil and also added Militec-1 to the oil to reduce the friction on the movable parts. Tires as Brand New Michelin XM1+ 15 Inces 205/55 and always with 32 psi on each tire. Always using 87 octane fuel.

Please let me know your concerns.

Thanks in Advance,

Rafael Valente

p.s. : Sorry for my english, I`m btw from Rio de Janeiro.

f/c means? fuel consumpstion?

You can increase the tire preesure.
I run 42 psi on an Infiniti Q45 and have for over 100k. but on a 55 series tire there is plenty of sidewall to absorb the road.

42 I think that is very high, I shall try 36 at least.

I will remove the Mud Flap from the side of the car try to improve aerodynamics.

Regards!

Mud flap really wont make a lot of difference.

Seach the 'tire pressure' threads, I can promis you 42 is no big deal.

Also, check a nissian site ( I am a moderator on FRESHALLOY . COM) and see if the ecm and tcm have a 'learning ability'
On the 02 Infiniti Q45 the ecm (engine brain) and tcm (transmission brain) will adjust over time to how you drive.
I drive pretty easy so the car's brain adjusts for better mpg instead of speed.
