Makes me think of this... 2010 Honda Insight Concept.
Course I'm biased. Thought for a moment that last picture showed my car!  
The interesting bits are what we didn't get when it went for sale, like the small mirrors and the door handles. The mirrors on my car are huge.
Nor the 18" or so rims.
Try to mentally fit those concept cars with 15" rims and you'll know how they will look in the flesh.

Yes, they do look like vents/diffusers with a perforated metal diffuser covering.

Zoom in real close to the upper venting, part of the tail light assembly - LEFT SIDE.

I think there could be venting at both the upper part (tail lights) and lower part (diffuser) which I described earlier.
