One of the 1st mod is usually a grill block. What if you block the direct air flow to the ram air ?

Not all ecomodder are driving slowly, some aero mod their car because they already have several hours of highway each day.

This is why this article is interesting as you may choose to move your ram air or to open the grill block at the correct place.

Denis.

Ram Air Calculator

Presuming this calculator is right or even nearly so...

It took input of 95 mph, 1000 in/hg ram pressure, and 70 deg temp to get 35% power increase...

a different Dynamic pressure calculator

at 60 MPH /88 FPS yields 0.043 PSI *theoretical* Boost to air box

Dynamic Pressure

my scoop in a high pressure area Air Dam

my experience has been that the cheap alum. hose is *blown * to bits over time

when time and energy permits i hope to fabricate a U Tube Manometer
and try to measure actual pressure differentials at various locations in the induction path.
U-Tube Manometer

while this DIY manometer is for use calculating propane tank pressures i think it would work .

at 120 MPH one would expect less than 5 INO2 pressure .17 PSI differential

my operating speeds are 60-70 MPH Max. expect 1.2 INO2 at 60 MPH.
