It's gotta be a manual, and preferably the sedan, and NOT another Redline... mine just popped its second engine since I've had it... plans are to use the Redline suspension on a base model and make a good handling eco-sedan

Sounds like fun. Save fuel with cornering speed.

Yeah, I was gonna make a post on the other forum about blowing my second LSJ, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet... Grandma was in the hospital gravely ill and getting a transfer, and I was trying my damnedest to get there to see her before she was moved out... A long overtake had me turning 7k in 3rd, and when I grabbed 4th, it coughed out a huge cloud of smoke and gained a dead misfire, the code pointed to cyl 4... My mechanic offered the option of installing a known good piston and fresh rings in just that cylinder, but I figure that it'll just fail again and while L61s and LE5s are plentiful and cheap, LSJs are not...

As a positive, there is someone interested in the Altima, and with the money I'll get, I will be able to turn around and buy a nice looking 2004 Saturn Ion that's in town near where I'm living at the moment

After some research it appears that L200/5 speed cars have a F35 with a 4.45 final ratio not a F23. I have a spare F35 trans but the 4.45 would be good track gears. It is kind of like running 4.10s on the street on my 68 Mustang long long ago. The final drive ratio is in the lower right corner of the tag. If you ever have time would you let me know what ratio is in your Redline?
Thanks
Andy

Since your Redline is 2800 @ 55 mph with 24.7" tall tires you must have the 4.05 final. Don't junk your trans until we talk. My L200 is 3000 @ 55 mph with 25" tires in 4th gear.

I was gonna say I think the Redline has like a 3.90 ratio or something like that... feel free to PM me, I'll share my cell number, we can talk about my F35 trans... if I get that other ion, I'll sell any powertrain components you want

So, I've gotten another car, again! The Altima is gone, replaced by a spartanly equipped 2004 Saturn Ion sedan... L61 ecotec and F23 trans, 3.84 final drive... It's a base model, no keyless entry, no power windows or mirrors, no cruise... It's got 106k on it and runs/drives decently... No mods yet, as I owe $580 on it, but as soon as it's paid off...

Alot of people think I'm weird because I'm one of those people who usually prefer manual windows and stuff like that. Just less to tear up.
I gotta have cruise though.
