IOS Full Screen scam on entering site

I haven’t seen this bs in years

Safari search contest, fills the whole screen can’t close it

Click a box win a prize, have to close the app to get past it.

Odd part was I had recently cleared cache and it popped up upon entry to the site, turned off data and closed the app.

Also I cannot attach an image for some reason (or I would show the pop up)

Some sort of man-in-the-middle attack? The browser's history may contain a pertinent URL.

The missing attachment button is suspicious. (I am seeing that too.)

Could be a hacked forum file. It's happened before.

I was entering from a search engine to the homepage

I have always found it extremely unfortunate that apple doesn’t block all non-standard web extensions by default

I’ve never encountered a legit site using biz xyz, online etc

My old iOS devices I had to leave in allow only the sites in this list mode, which could cause a long browser freeze reset cycle as the site didn’t like ads and other crap blocked.

This new device won’t allow it.

This is looking like a hack. We had something similar happen years ago.

I'm working with the server admin, and we may end up reverting to a backed-up version of the database from Saturday. (Which means posts since then, including these, will disappear.)

Then we have to prevent them from getting in again.

Same. No cell phone, no cry.

So, we can say anything we want?

So if I were to admit to liking unicorns and Justin Bieber, then there will be no record of it?

Do you remember Robot Exclusion Protocol from 2002?
