The MINI Cooper S is in the middle of a recall; an electric coolant pump (for the turbo) was poorly made and an electrical short in it can overheat and start the car on fire. This happens after the car is run for some time and then parked. Not a pretty thing.

Analysis of the Karma fire, by consultant & GM chief engineer of the Volt program. A cramped and enclosed ICE engine compartment. Expert: Fisker Karma's engine packaging, not batteries, likely caused fire

In other words, the same thing that has made a number of Ferraris burst into flames after parking. Makes sense. (only on a smaller scale, both engine and compartment )
