How many other VW threads are there lurking in the archives I've never seen before?

Did you know there's a whole website full of the is stuff?

An aeromodded EV Ghia would be uber cool, but also a huge money pit.

That and the safety aspect is why I gave up on the idea of something like this.
I think a reasonable build scenario would be to add an 8-Point roll cage to the vehicle and use that for mounting the battery boxes. Or were you concerned with becoming and impromptu ramp-bed truck?

Did you ever find a replacement for Softimage-XSI? Or do anything with 3D modelling at all?

Sorry to be so late on my response here. I have been away from this site for quite some time since my car broke down,( actually it just broke down again )

My main concern would be having my head taken off by the SUV behind me as it uses the rear of the car as a ramp.

That, and of course the lack of money on my part.

As far as the XSI replacement, I am on a mac now and all my software is for PC. I can try to reboot to my Windows partition and use the software that way, but what a drag !!
Also, all my keyboard shortcuts are different on this thing.

I tried Blender for a short time, but then gave up since it is yet another steep learning curve.

I'm wondering what happened to that one fellow that posted a while back on this forum with the real life chopped Karmann Ghia. ( post # 48 on the last page ) He has never posted since :-(

There is only one project like that (that I know of), very difficult and expensive. Cost somewhere around $100,000 if I recall correctly.

Here it is: Bader racing and it's $260,000
Karmann Ghia with Porsche 993 Engine | Engine Swap Depot

Jalopnik says the swap costs $260,000 and takes around 18 months.
Details:
Bader Racing

I guess the van engine swap is the economical one to do.
