Keep an eye on those plastic clip-on fuel lines....
I have had two tanks over 30 mpg in my truck. Then my mileage dropped to about 25. I could not get it higher. I was looking for belly pan mounting points the other day and noticed some discoloration on the left frame rail. Turns out the line feeding the fuel filter was leaking pretty bad. I didn't want to take a chance on having a new o-ring go bad, so I got some fuel injection hose.....$7 a FOOT!!!!!! After I got over the shock, I installed it and removed the old line. No more leak and the mileage should improve once again. I just need some time. I also noticed that the oil looks NEW!!! I have 4,000 miles on the oil now and figured it would be black....NOT.....this motor must have really good rings. I will do a comp check just to see, as I have not done one yet.
