Larger wheels?

My Versa 5 speed runs at high rpms and feels geared way too low and I would like to upsize the wheels to reduce this by about 10%.

Current tires are 185/65R14

I would like to move to a 15" wheel. To get a 8% increase in circumference, I would need a tire of something like 205/65R15. I am not 100% sure that the larger tires will fit in the wheel wells but the wheelwells seem to be much larger than the current tires.

This would be a wider tire, heavier wheel and the car would be about an inch higher off the ground.

Do you think the lower rpms would offset the negatives of the bigger wheels?

It'll help on the highway for rolling resistance and rpm's but will slightly hurt aero. You should see a slight gain. If you get racing/performance wheels they might not be heavier.

The new wheel set should not raise your car an inch. If you're concerned about it you can buy 2" lowering springs on Ebay for $75 (plus an installation/alignment). It will improve MPG and make the car more fun to drive!

The grille blocks look great on that car. Too bad your 14's are 4x114.3, or I might buy them off ya.
