LCD Idea

LCD Keypad Shield for Arduino [] - £11.00 : nuelectronics.com, Arduino Freeduino projects

That one is basically stackable onto the Diecimila board (what I have). Thing is, the buttons work a little different (voltage divider). Also, it uses lcd data pins 0-3...it seems kinda close. More or less a code change maybe? I thought I would throw that out there since the easier it is to assemble, the more likely more people will be involved in the project.

It still needs extra circuitry to make an mpguino out of it. I think we will be happier once we have a kit with a custom PCB, I (and a few others) are working on it.

Sounds awesome... I thought I would throw that out there anyway. I'm not 100% familiar with the current hardware/software, so that's why I posted it anyway. Any idea on the timeline for the kit? I'm just curious.

I think arduino would benefit from a "standard computing platform", that has a "display" and "keyboard", just like this kit, or like a mpguino without the vehicle interface circuit.

It worked for the PC

Unfortunately it is going in several directions at once and nerdy decisions have to be made by all

re: kit, it'll be a few weeks at least. I need to buckle down on it.
