Put in a bid on a 400cc 10hp diesel engine on ebay. I'll use it on something. The leaf pusher or stump grinder.

As you're going for a single-wheel for the pusher, if you manage to keep friction losses low enough, that engine might be actually quite useful for that purpose. But it's more likely to serve better the stump grinder.

I don't think I'm getting that 400cc diesel engine. Not paying $600.

How fast can a leaf sized car be pushed by an all motor 212cc engine?

A half-assed calculation that I done some years ago would lead me to underestimate those stationary engines, mostly because I don't see them revving higher than 3600 RPM so often.

A 207 to 212cc class engine 40 to 45 mph
A 390 to 420cc class engine 60 to 65mph
Probably on the slower end for the leaf since it weighs nearly double with the insite weighs.

You mean the Diesels or the gassers?

I remember some claims that a 1st-generation BMW 1-Series would need 20hp to sustain a cruise speed around 60 to 65 mph. Maybe that would be a more accurate baseline than the Insight

That would be gasoline.

The Chinese diesels use a 20mm shaft. I heard there is or was a 20mm kart CVT available.
So a coal rolling leaf booster may be a possibility.
