I just have to commend the people of Canada for taking the lead in Environmental responsibility. In the few hours I've been here in Vancouver, I've noticed the following:
- Considerable use of Mass Transit (including clean buses and expanded light rail)
- Recycling stations in many public places
- Smaller vehicles on the road (rode in a Corolla taxi -- many other taxis were Priuses, Camrys, and 4-cylinder Malibus: no Crown Vics here)
- Carbon offset for the travel of delegates to the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (
PNWER)
- And, an aggressive television and Internet ad campaign to educate the public on the Province's
efforts to improve the Environment
Should the U.S. take some action similarly?
