Just because EOC may not be worth it for SOME people in the long run doesn't mean its evil.

I don't feel like its contributing any noticeable additional wear and tear on my car. But I have practiced bumping for awhile and I can pull it off very smoothly over 20 mph, under 20 I key start.

Why have the engine running when its not providing any work? I feel wastefull when I don't EOC

How you you provide A/C with the engine off, for instance?
I actually don't use my Ac because its not worth the FE penalty(15-20%), kinda like EOC not worth the parts penalty for some people.

Plus Ive gotten so used to having cars without Ac, 65 bug, 64 bus, 67 dune buggy. And I work in a non air conditioned shop where my desk is @ 95 degrees and 55% humidity. I acclimated

No ac here, either. The only time it bothers me is when I am on 2nd shift. I hate getting sweaty on the way to work. It's still worth the money not to have it, just annoying at times.

I don't AC either. If its really hot I just put a change of clothes in the back. Drinking ice cold water and a misting fan (over ice water) with windows open (< 40mph) have kept me cool without a big hit on my FE. My engine gets "hot" before I really do.

I like that idea for my second shift weeks. I feel a little stupid for not thinking about it.

I guess window tint would help, too.....
