Yes, and the celebration will have lead balloons!

Seriously, though, that's awesome mileage.

I neglected to mention that this is normally a 7.5 hour trip at the posted speed limit, i've done it in 6.5 before

took me 8.5 hours today, so an extra hour (or two depending how you look at it)

Congrats! I haven't even been able to get that kind of MPG out of mine and it's a standard! It's a three-speed auto, right? I am proud to have the same generation. My goal is 50 MPG.

Arrived to Buffalo, NY last night. Was crusing around 65-75mph with ac on low the entire way. There are 470 miles on the trip with the fuel gauge at E. Going to pump it today and see how much gas I have use. I am very impressed with this VX. Last semester I drove a Subaru 2.5RS with a 13 gallon tank. I usually gets to Boston or Buffalo with 1.25 tank. Now it's just one tank each way.

Also, who drives a 2002+ dark blue Toyotal Corolla from MA? Was on the NY interstate drafting behind a 18 wheeler and this ******* just have to cut me and draft right behind the my truck!

Your Toyota owner's manual will probably recommend upping your cold inflation pressure 3 psi for sustained high speed driving.Consumer Report suggest 3-5 psi over recommended pressure.Whatever you do,don't leave with them low on air! The extra weight and summer temps will conspire to heat 'em up,which could lead to failure.School is better than hospital any day! Try and distribute the weight as evenly as you can( like 3 passengers).Driving at a constant throttle setting(if safe in traffic) might be as good as P&G,as some mileage marathoners used this to win records.Remember,if your hyper-miling causes other drivers to waste fuel,we make no overall progress.
