Lowered Trailer Sides

I told you all in a post last week that I got 20 mpg towing this trailer when I used to get 17 to 18 mpg. I think it is because the truck is wider then the 4 Runner I used to own and the trailer is more in the shadow of the truck. Anyway the sides were in bad shape so I shortened them about 18 inches and reenforced the top edges with 2x2's. I am going to put a cap rail on top of them to stop moisture from wicking in to the plywood. I am considering some large diameter PVC sections to round the corners. Then I am going to test it again. I would have liked to install the paneling on the exterior but that was too tricky to do with the materials on hand.

Yea i was thinking about tapering behind my mudguards on my trailer.
I think pvc or abs (black) pipe would finish off your mod nicely.
Is that a skull n horns in the front, or am i seeing things?

I've also seen some record MPG's when towing ordinary garden trailers. I'm going to start modding my own semi enclosed trailer soon. At least with a trailer it doesn't matter if you drill, cut or weld it.
